This is a practical, enjoyable read which will quickly reboot poor attitudes toward household duties and get our focus back on track.
A few good thoughts in here but not enough for the price.
Quick, easy read that made me rethink my attitude about the never-ending chores keeping a home requires. Gives the reader the ability to see the mundane in a holy light; to recognize the job of keeping a home as one that is ordained by God and when done in obedience to Him, brings a new sense of purpose. I only gave 4 stars, as the price is a bit high for such a short read.
This sweet little book is full of beautiful thoughts. If you find yourself dreading drudgery and avoiding housework, this little book will help you shift your attitude. Priceless!
This little book is such a sweet gem. Mystie Winckler gets personal about her struggle to value the repetitious nature of housework, a real struggle for homemakers, at least in my neck of the woods. She succeeds in bringing Scripture, fiction, and theology to bear on the situation, in a memorable way. She offers a compelling argument for approaching repetitious housework like laundry and dishes with an attitude of imitating the God who upholds the universe by the word of His power. It's possible that God is not too small to tire of repetition, she says, and that we are imitating his nature and character when we do the same things over and over again, for the good of our families and to his glory. I love to listen to the audio version while I wash dishes or the floor.
Thankful for the scripture included in this book, underscoring the thoughts of others that she has included. Short and to the point! I'm off to my purposeful routine.
